While the personal information reporting on your credit reports, such as your name, address, etc., may not affect your credit score as you may know it, it can still hurt you. How? Because individuals with certain patterns of data on their credit reports are grouped together by the credit bureaus and placed on what are called “score cards”. And ultimately, these score cards will determine how much weight is placed on other aspects of your credit score.
For example, if you have 10 or more addresses reporting on your credit report, then you will be placed on a score card with others showing a similiar pattern of multiple addresses on their credit reports. Your group’s score card may weigh more heavily on late payments, collections, and so forth. Thus your credit score will be calculated more harshly than someone with only 1 or 2 addresses on their reports.
